Dragon City breeding guide
Each dragon has one or two elements. Breeding two dragons produces a dragon from the elements of its parents, so the pairing you choose decides which hybrid you can get.
Match every dragon to a habitat of its element, keep gold generating, and train before you battle. Limited event dragons are the exception: they usually come from event islands, not breeding.

Tap a dragon’s portrait to see where to get it: breeding, event island, missing dragon rescue or the shop. The source button takes you straight there.
Best dragons by role
- PvP attack. Primal and legendary hybrids hit hardest.
- PvP defense. Metal and War dragons, mixed across elements.
- Gold farming. Legendary, heroic and primal dragons earn more per tile.
- Heroic races. Pure, Legend, Dream and Ice dragons such as High Purus perform well.
- Collection. Complete the dragon book and sticker album for orbs and rewards.
How to get gems and gold in Dragon City
